Website Sudbury Gasworks Restoration Trust via Trustees Unlimited

Who we are

Sudbury Gasworks Restoration Trust (SGRT) was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee in February 2014. In April 2015, it received charitable status and has since been operating as a Building Preservation Trust. The Trust has ten trustees. In December 2019 we were awarded a £1.4m National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to restore and develop the building to create a space for the local community.

The role

The charity runs a heritage and community venue which has been open for just over 12 months. The board currently meets each month and there are 3 Committees. We have defined lead Trustee roles including Secretary, Chair etc. The document below gives the role descriptions for all of them. There is also a role description for Trustee. We estimate that the time commitment for a Trustee is around the equivalent of 1 day per month, although most Trustees also volunteer in other roles such as general maintenance or fundraising.

We have vacancies for the Finance, HR Lead Trustee and are also missing someone with expertise in marketing.
