PLUS offers support services for adults with learning disabilities based on developing and maintaining people’s independence. It has a real presence in the local communities it supports across southeast London and its family focus is at the heart of PLUS’s work. At a time of significant change, with PLUS’s founding Chair stepping down after 30 years of service, we are looking for someone who can bring that same caring and inclusive approach as PLUS looks to the future.

After a recent strategy review, PLUS have identified exciting opportunities for future growth and development. As Chair, you will be integral in guiding the Board to refresh the strategy, explore new options and support the Executive to realise the organisation’s potential.

You do not need previous Chair experience, but you will be an experienced strategic leader who has expertise working in regulated environments and who understands local authority commissioning and brings demonstrable experience of delivering organisational change. PLUS needs someone who is solutions focused with an ability to see the big picture, and who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships internally and with external stakeholders, which are core to its operations.
