Trustee

We run a small Day Care Centre to provide support, care, and meaningful activity to people living with dementia. We run a support group for carers. We operate on 3 days a week in a local church hall, providing care to up to 10 people on each day, in a warm, friendly atmosphere where people are treated as individuals and given the support they need to function well. We have a small staff and volunteer team We are particularly looking for trustees with financial and HR know-how and experience.

Position Description

We are looking for new trustees, to help run our small, vibrant Day Centre for people living with dementia, and offering support to carers. We are a small charitable company limited by guarantee.

We are particularly looking for people with experience of HR and or finances.

Trustees do not need to have experience of working with people living with dementia but must be able and willing to learn about our values and to support our staff team in providing care and support in a truly person centred way.

We are looking for people who are able and willing to work as part of the team on the trustee board and to take some responsibility for the work of the trustees, particularly in financial or HR matters.

Most of our meetings are held remotely via Zoom link, but some contact with the Day Centre from time to time is desirable, and trustees are welcome to visit at any time.

Trustees meetings are held every month, small task groups or committees meet as required and trustees attend a few events in person each year.
