Website Agape National Academy of Music (ANAM) – Liberia

Founded in 2008, the Agape National Academy of Music (ANAM) is Liberia’s first and
only operational music school committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable children
and youth through high-quality music education, literacy support, leadership training,
and cultural preservation. To date, ANAM has served over 1,200 children across Liberia.
We believe music is not just an art—it is a powerful tool for healing, education, and
empowerment. Our mission is to build a generation of leaders equipped with skills,
discipline, and creativity through accessible, holistic music programs.

Opportunity
ANAM Liberia is seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join its Board of
Directors. We are currently expanding our board to strengthen governance, increase
our capacity, and support our strategic priorities as we grow our impact in Liberia.

  • Key Responsibilities
    Provide strategic direction and oversight of ANAM Liberia’s mission and
    programs
  • Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts
  • Ensure financial integrity and accountability
  • Provide a monthly financial contribution to assist with school ongoing operation
  • Promote ANAM within personal and professional networks
  • Participate in quarterly board meetings and ongoing committee work
  • Review and approve policies, budgets, and strategic plans

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A strong belief in the mission of ANAM
  • Experience in nonprofit governance, education, finance, fundraising, law, music,
    or international development
  • Ability to commit time and resources to support ANAM’s goals
  • Integrity, sound judgment, and collaborative spirit
  • Prior board experience is a plus but not required

Special Consideration for Expertise in:

  • Fundraising and grant writing
  • Finance and audit oversight
  • Education policy and program development
  • Music education or youth development
  • Legal affairs or nonprofit compliance
